THE PROJECT

The innovation which has transformed my professional life in recent years is the computer. At the HCT we have many things to do every day until we will finish our course. Every day we use the computer at our college to do many useful things like uploading our home work, searching for information, chatting with people around the world, online study, using the dictionary and many others. In the past people didn’t have computers so it was hard for them to study. Before they used the paper to do their home work and research; they also used the books to get some information. In fact all the things were the same all around the world. When first I visited East Asia I start searching for a computer shop but I couldn’t find it in the street. I asked one man for a computer shop and he told me” you will find it in the shopping mall only”. I realized that they still use pen and paper to do their home work and stuff. Although the students when they want to use the computer for their project, have to read some books and search for the information because it’s expensive to use the computer for one hour only ( 5 dh ) and there many poor people who can’t pay for this amount of money. The History of Computers is very old. In 1937 Alan Turing's Turing machine pioneered the idea of machines that could complete well-defined tasks by being supplied with programs (http://www.buzzle.com ) . In 1948 the Manchester Baby became the first stored program computer. In 1955 MIT built the first real-time processing machine. In 1956, IBM created the disk memory system. When first the computer came it was very big and huge and, it needed a big room. The first use of the word "computer" was recorded in 1613 (http://www.buzzle.com/), referring to a person who carried out calculations, or computations, and the word continued to be used in that sense until the middle of the 20th century. From the end of the 19th century onwards though, the word began to take on its more familiar meaning, describing a machine that carries out computations (http://en.wikipedia.org ).

Today the computer has become a household item .The first modern day computer was developed in the mid-20th century, though the concept of a computer and various similar machines existed before. Now in the ADMC you can see in each class room there is a computer for the teacher. The teacher can use the computer to teach us by the easy way. Almost every student in the ADMC has a laptop. This big change has helped all people around the world to be comfortable and relaxed. Computers also help the business men to be connected with the world stock market. Although there are some places in the world with no computers, still people like to have bought their own computer. You can see that the computer is important in the life and it connects people around the world. The invention of the computer has changed our life completely. People don’t want to go outside the home because of the computer; even small children want to have their own computer to play some games online.
